Tautas Roks is – Kristaps Fisher, Robert Care, Simon Nay and Maris Fisher- who bring their music to you with a bucket load of enthusiasm and pride. We generate a gutsy, traditional folk sound that marries the magic of a rock beat and a cool attitude. Our musical energy is upbeat, with a mixture of songs and tunes creating an infectious sound.
Tautas Roks is Latvian for Folk Rock and Hand of the People; two of the band members have Latvian roots and are proud of this connection so much so that the bands name reflects this.
Word is spreading quickly. The band has been playing gigs locally for a while now and we are getting more confident with each performance, and starting to play further afield. With the lightning speed of Kristaps Fisher on the melodeon, Simon Nay (also known as Waffle) confidently playing on acoustic guitar, Rob Care’s prowess on the Cajon and Maris (Mo) calmly plucking the bass, we have a totally unique style fit for almost any venue including concerts, ceilidhs, open mic nights, weddings and other events.
